The berry.org.au website is Berry's primary tourism website aimed at those planning, or considering, a visit to the town and its surrounding region. The website is more than just a directory however. It has been designed to inspire, motivate, inform, and guide potential visitors in selecting Berry as a travel destination. berry.org.au receives over 8,500 visits per month, or 280 a day! How do I get listed on the websites?

Businesses wishing to be listed must be financial members of the Berry Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Listings are managed centrally and displayed on both websites in the appropriate categories. Membership fees are $220/year. Your second business membership is discounted to $110/year. A third business membership is discounted to $55/year. What is the Berry Chamber?

An association of independent businesses in and around the local area, which serves to represent the interests of local business and the local economy. Business members pay an annual fee which funds the activities of the Chamber. The Executive Committee meet monthly to work on an agenda of projects and issues which affect local businesses.

What does the Berry Chamber do?

It works to grow the local economy, to serve as a voice for business and to deliver value to members. Specifically it:

• Actively promotes Berry and its events through television, print and radio advertising as well as social media
• Organises information and networking events for its members
• Makes representations on behalf of Berry’s businesses at local, state and government levels
• Hosts events such as the Berry Merry Christmas Festival
• Contributes critical funding and advertising support to other local events that bring custom and support to local businesses.

Present focus

At present, the Berry Chamber is focusing on actions which will minimise potential adverse affects on the local economy resulting from the highway bypass in 2015–17. This involves a variety of new marketing initiatives and infrastructural planning to ensure visitors keep coming to Berry.

To support members by offering training for better business and to deliver more customers to their door.

The mission of the Berry Chamber is to:

• Increase membership each year
• Increase members participation and involvement in Chamber activities
• Provide more training and networking opportunities
• Provide cost-effective marketing for members and Berry as a whole
• Build local business viability through increasing visitor frequency duration each year.

Membership Fees are just $220.00 each financial year. Your second business membership is discounted to $110.00 for the year. You can submit your application online or contact the Secretary as below. Once received your application will be reviewed by the Secretary and discussed by the Executive if necessary. Should your application meet the criteria for joining as outlined in our Constitution we will be in touch to discuss payment. If your application is unsuccessful you will be notified as to why your application has been unsuccessful.

Haydn’s Nature

AHE opens its 2019 season in Berry with a string quartet program that celebrates Haydn’s love of the natural world. In our first program, Artistic Director and violinist Skye McIntosh and the AHE quartet explore the relationship between Haydn and nature. Two of Haydn’s beloved string quartets, Sunrise and The Bird bookend the program. In The Lark, Haydn masterfully weaves the birdsong-like melodies of the first violins that fly above the other instruments. The work finishes with a fiendishly difficult moto perpetuo. At the heart of the program are selections from one of Haydn’s famous oratorios, The Creation. The Ensemble presents movements from both in historical string quartet arrangements. One of Haydn’s indisputable works of genius, the String Quartet Op. 76 No. 4 (Sunrise) closes the program. Although it was not nicknamed by Haydn himself, the opening bars of the quartet clearly evoke the image of daybreak. Program
